Catering Equipment Hire

Terms and Conditions


This contract is made between you the Hirer and us Cambridge Catering Hire where you hire goods supplied by us subject to these terms & conditions.  It is governed by English law.

Standard Agreement

We agree to hire to you the goods listed in the contract/schedule subject to the goods being available at the time required by you.

You agree to hire the goods from us, return them to us in good condition clean and dry at the due time and pay all charges when due.

Unwashed return is available by prior arrangement at extra cost.- minimum charge £25.00

Charges for table linen include basic laundering by our Professional Laundry.

Please note  –  If linen is not returned or is returned stained and cannot be removed by our professional laundry a replacement charge will be made,  [Please be aware that red wine, coloured candle wax, blue tack, floristry tape, saffron die, floor marks, concrete/stone marks, ink / marker pen marks, heavy oil or grease from cookers BBQ etc  do not come out of tablecloths and will be charged for at full replacement].  We notify you details and you pay us the additional charges within 7 days if not covered by the deposit.


Hire Period & Rates

The hire period starts when we deliver the goods to you and terminates when you return the goods to us.

Goods remain on hire until returned to us.

You pay for the time you have the goods at the hire rates stated in the contract per each 48 hours or part.

Place of delivery and return is our warehouse at St Neots PE19 8YU.


Before delivery of the goods you pay the total Deposit stated in the contract which covers hire charges for the expected duration of the hire period plus a deposit against any loss or breakage.

After you return all the goods at the due time and in satisfactory condition we repay the Deposit within 7 days less charges due.

Additional Charges

In the event any goods are returned late or found missing damaged, soiled or otherwise not in accordance with our agreement you pay additional charges to cover any replacement, extended hire period and extra work and costs incurred.

We notify you details and you pay us the additional charges within 7 days if not covered by the deposit.

In the event of non payment, missing and damaged goods remain on hire and accrue continuous hire charges from delivery up to either date you return them to us or date we receive payment of full replacement charge.

Should you wish to cancel or alter an order, after same has been accepted by us, notifications must be made to us IN WRITING at least 48 hours before delivery / collection from our warehouse, and we reserve the right to make an additional charge.  Goods cancelled on the day of delivery / collection from our warehouse will be charged at 100%, the day prior to delivery / collection from our warehouse will be charged at 75%, two days prior to delivery / collection from our warehouse will be charged at 50% of the hire charge.

Late Payment

Late payment will incur a surcharge of 10% per month.

Account Customers

If you hold a credit account approved by us in writing all charges are invoiced to you and you agree to pay us within 28 days of invoice date.

Title & Risk

Title to the goods remains with us at all times but risk and responsibility in the goods passes to you on delivery and remains with you for the duration of the hire period.

You are advised to insure against loss or damage and to carry out risk assessments and implement training and safety procedures in respect of the goods to ensure the health and safety of those using the goods and any others who may be at risk as a result of you hiring and using the goods.

Faulty Goods

If any of the goods appear faulty you will immediately stop using them isolate and disconnect power/fuel supply and notify us.

In the event goods are confirmed faulty our liability is limited to: either we exchange the faulty goods at our warehouse if suitable replacement goods are available or we credit hire charges for the time the goods are faulty, at our option.


When we sell goods to you title remains with us until we receive full payment in cleared funds but risk and responsibility passes to you on delivery.

Delivery Service

We transport goods to and from your location for an additional charge at date & time agreed subject to change in the event of circumstances outside our reasonable control.

On delivery we unload goods from our vehicle at the nearest safe access point and on collection we load our vehicle.  All other handling set-up clearing and re-packing for transport is your responsibility. person lift.

In exceptional circumstances, or if requested by you ,we may at our option enter your location as your agent at your risk and cost
